About The Wire Association International

The organization behind Interwire.

The Wire Association International (WAI) is a worldwide technical society serving professionals in wire and cable manufacturing. Founded in 1930 and based in Madison, Connecticut, USA, WAI helps the industry exchange technical knowledge and build professional relationships.

Its community spans ferrous, nonferrous, electrical, fiber optic, and fastener interests, bringing together manufacturers, suppliers, educators, and technical specialists.

Why WAI organizes Interwire

Interwire gives the industry a place to evaluate manufacturing technology, learn from experienced practitioners, and connect with people across the supply chain. WAI brings its technical focus and industry relationships to the event’s educational programs and professional exchange.

Supporting the industry throughout the year

WAI’s work continues beyond Interwire through the WAI Education Center, courses and workshops, Wire Expo, technical conferences, and Wire Journal International. Regional chapters and volunteer committees offer additional ways to exchange ideas and contribute to the industry.
