Exhibitor points system

Booth selection at Interwire follows WAI’s official points system, which rewards exhibiting history and stand size.

Interwire 2027: points-based stand selection took place at the Points Meeting on March 26, 2026. Remaining space is now assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, with a deposit.

How points are earned

  • 25 points for each year a company exhibits at a WAI Interwire or Wire Expo show. The base year is Interwire 1983.
  • 1 point for every 100 square feet (or Wire Expo unit) of stand space.
  • A company receives no more than 25 participation points a year, however many booths it has.

For example, a company exhibiting in a 1,000-square-foot stand earns 35 points that year: 25 for participating and 10 for stand size.

How booth selection works

Companies with the most points choose their locations first, at a Points Meeting held before space assignment begins. After the Point Selection Deadline, booths are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Ties

If companies with equal points request the same booth, the tie is decided by these criteria, in order:

  1. Number of years exhibited
  2. Continuity of those years
  3. A lottery

Who receives points

Points go only to the company that signs the Exhibit License. Co-exhibitors, and agents signing on behalf of an exhibiting company, do not receive points.

Mergers and acquisitions

When one company acquires another, the combined company receives the greater of the two companies’ point balances. Points are not added together.

Inactive companies

Companies that have not exhibited at a points-generating event in ten years are removed from the system. A returning company starts again with no historical points.

Space assignment

WAI Show Management assigns exhibit space and reserves the right to change the location of an exhibitor’s space at any time.

Report a discrepancy

Report any discrepancy in writing to WAI’s Executive Director. Discrepancies more than three years after the posting date will not be investigated.
